Began his career in 2002, participating in different projects as a production assistant, gaffer and later as a cameraman on the production of different personalities as: Sonia Fritz, Douglas Mendoza and Luis Molina Casanovas among others.  It was the latter which formally began his career in 2006 working for 4 years in different projects: Puerto Rico in Tenderente, Estampas de Teyo Gracia, Jaime Benitez documentary film, among others.

During the period 2008 to 2009 Manuel Gilberto was dedicated to fully develop their skills with the photography and techniques. In 2009 TVE (Spanish Television) decide to develop a special TV presentation of an event in Puerto Rico,  Mr. Molina decides to create a documentary about: “Las Fiestas de la Calle San Sebastián” and entrusted this task to Manuel Gilberto, the production was presented during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the original program "Tenderete" TVE chain.
 

In  2010, Manuel decided to become an independent film maker and in June of that year he founded Vertiquo Films Corp. The corporation is dedicated to the development, production of local and international film projects, media, marketing and music videos. In 2011 he directed and produced his first short film "Dracula Dies for Us" short that was an official selection at international festivals in Spain and Florida. In 2012 also directed "Lagrimas por mi Angelito" and produce the film named Under Rain directed by David Aponte Pagán.

The corporation is developing projects focus mainly for the American market and Latin America.
 

Manuel is still under development and is currently in pre-production of "Hope", which would be his first feature in order to be presented in mid-2013.
